29x the pain
That’s what I want to listen to right now, but I can’t find it on Spotify. Why do I want to listen to it? Because this weekend, I completed a gruelling 127-mile bike ride along the entire length of the Leeds-Liverpool canal in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Today, I ache. Lots.
Damian Clapham arranged it (pictured 2nd from right – the reason behind his choice of charity can be found here) and set the pace – he did have the maps and all the rest stop locations, after all! We set off from Liverpool on Saturday morning, just after 8am, reaching Burnley 12 hours later for a well-earned meal and an all-too-short sleep. We set off again at 8am on Sunday for the last leg, which we completed just before 6pm. Not bad going.

This is us at the last mile marker, one quarter of a mile before the finish (we went to the finish first, before coming back to celebrate and have this photo taken). Top job everyone.
Big thanks (not sure why, given the way I feel right now!) to Damian for asking me to take part, and shouts to Steven, Andrew and Peter who made up the rest of the team. We all had to drag each other through it at some points.
Anyone who would like to donate to the cause can do so here – it’s not too late.
Andy
